The Wedding Experience

What is a Wedding at Cornman Farms?

A celebration for 15 to 75 guests with the whole farm reserved: ceremony on the lawn, in the gardens or in the barn loft, cocktails in the lounge, dinner and dancing in the Red Barn. Half-day and full-day versions are available.

What is an Elopement at Cornman Farms?

A ceremony and a long dinner for 4 to 14 guests. The ceremony is in the gardens or the farmhouse and dinner is at one table in the farmhouse dining room, cooked in the exhibition kitchen beside you.

What is a Tiny Wedding?

Two to ten people, a short ceremony and a table set for your party. It is the simplest way to marry here and still have the farm to yourselves.

Can we hold our ceremony in the vineyard?

The vines go in during spring 2027, so for 2027 the lawn, gardens, pergola and barn loft remain the ceremony sites, with the young vineyard as the view. Ceremonies among the rows become an option as the vines mature.

Will planting affect events in 2027?

No. Planting happens on the outer fields over a few weeks in spring; the farmhouse, barn, lawn and drive stay as they are.

How many guests can I invite?

Up to 75 for weddings in the barn and farmhouse. Larger receptions on the lawn under a tent can be arranged; ask when you tour.

Do vendors count toward the guest maximum?

No. Your photographer, planner, musicians and other vendors are in addition to your guest count, and we feed them.

Do you host more than one wedding per day?

No. When you book, the farm is yours for your hours.

What time of year do weddings take place?

All year. The barn is heated and cooled, winter ceremonies are held in the loft, and the fireplace lounge does its best work in January.

What is the difference between the Half Day and Full Day packages?

Hours on the farm and the shape of the day. Half Day covers ceremony, cocktails and dinner; Full Day adds the morning in the farmhouse getting ready, a longer reception and dancing. Your planning lead will walk you through both.

Is the property accessible?

The barn, pergola, lawn and the main floor of the farmhouse are accessible; the farmhouse’s upstairs rooms are reached by stairs. Tell us about any needs and we will plan around them.

How do I book a tour of the farm?

Send the inquiry form or call. Tours take about an hour and are by appointment; the farm is a private venue and is not open for drop-in visits.

Planning

How does food and drink work for our wedding?

We bring you partners and options: local kitchens, chefs and suppliers we work with and trust, in a choice of styles at a quality we stand behind. We arrange it with you, your tasting is part of planning, and the farmhouse kitchen is theirs on the day.

Can we bring in a chef or restaurant we love?

Ask us. We are glad to talk with them; the farmhouse kitchen is a full professional kitchen and we set the standards for anyone who works in it.

Do you accommodate dietary restrictions or vegan menus?

Yes. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, allergy and religious dietary needs are handled with your food partner during planning.

Does the package include bar service?

Yes. We pour Michigan beer and cider, cocktails and wines from Social Vines. Bar packages are set during planning.

Can we have signature cocktails?

Yes. Pick two and we will build them with you at your tasting.

What is the timeline for planning?

Most couples book nine to eighteen months out. Planning meetings, the tasting and the vendor list happen across the months before, and details are finalized 30 days ahead.

How do we begin planning?

Once your date is held, your planning lead sets a first meeting to map the day, then schedules your tasting and walks through decor, music and vendors with you.

Can we get ready on the farm?

Yes. The farmhouse has a dressing room, a hair and makeup room and an upstairs lounge for the wedding party.

What time should my ceremony start?

Late afternoon works best for light and for dinner timing; your planning lead will suggest a start based on the season and sunset.

Do you have AV equipment?

Yes. The loft has a screen, projector and a sound system for toasts and playlists. Bands and DJs bring their own equipment.

What are my options for music?

A playlist on our sound system, a DJ or live musicians. Amplified music outdoors ends at the time set in your agreement out of respect for our neighbors.

Do you have high chairs and booster seats?

Yes, both.

Booking & Pricing

What is your booking process?

Policies & Guest Information

Do you provide parking?

Yes, free on site, with space for shuttles.

Can guests use Uber or Lyft?

No. All beverages are served through the farm’s license.

Is smoking allowed?

In one designated outdoor area only.

What are your decor policies?

Open flame only in enclosed holders; no confetti, glitter or anything nailed or taped to the historic buildings; sparklers at the drive only. Fresh flowers and candles are welcome.

The farm is private; photography sessions require a booking.

Do I need to schedule a tour or can I just stop by?

Tours are by appointment. There is usually an event under way, so we cannot accommodate drop-ins.

Are pets allowed?

Dogs may join the ceremony with advance notice and a handler for the rest of the day.
