Welcome to Cornman Farms
Vineyard and Events · Dexter, Michigan
A historic 27-acre farm with an 1834 farmhouse and an 1837 red barn, a short drive from downtown Ann Arbor, and from 2027 a working vineyard around them. We host one celebration at a time, so the whole farm is yours.
Our Vision
From historic event barn to working farm and vineyard
Cornman Farms has been a celebrated event barn for more than a decade. Its next chapter puts the farm back to work around it. In spring 2027, Social Vines, our sister company two miles down the road, plants 14 acres of cold-hardy wine grapes here. The event barn and farmhouse will sit inside a working vineyard, and the fruit grown on these fields will be made into wine two miles away at the Social Vines winery and tasting room.
The idea is simple: carry on the heritage of Cornman, preserve the land, and bring people back to nature through the events we host and the vineyard we grow. There is nothing like it around here. Look for us in 2027 as the vines go in.
Preserve the land
Two historic buildings kept in good order, open pasture and gardens kept in production, and fields farmed without till, as they are at Social Vines.
Plant the vines
Fourteen acres of Marquette, Itasca, Frontenac and other cold-hardy varieties, tended by hand and made into local wine two miles down the road.
Bring people back to nature
Weddings and gatherings in the middle of a vineyard, tastings on the farm, and a reason to walk the rows with a glass in hand.
What We Do
Three ways to gather at the farm
Weddings
Your day, the whole farm
Ceremonies on the lawn, in the gardens or in the barn loft. Receptions in the Red Barn, dinners in the farmhouse. One wedding a day, every season, for 2 to 75 guests.
Private Events
Meet, celebrate or retreat
Corporate retreats in the Red Barn, chef’s dinners around one long farmhouse table, showers, reunions and milestone parties, with the food and the room handled by one team.
Vineyard
Vines around the barn
Fourteen acres of cold-hardy grapes go in around the event venue in 2027, grown by Social Vines and made into wine two miles down the road. Tastings here from time to time, and every week at the tasting room.
Our Spaces
Two historic buildings, 27 acres
Greek Revival, 1834. Exhibition kitchen, dining room, library and getting-ready suites.

The farmhouse redesign
The farmhouse interior becomes a suite of rooms for wedding parties and dinner guests.
2026
A new chapter
At the end of October, Cornman Farms comes under local family ownership, joined with Social Vines Vineyard & Winery two miles down the road.
2027
The vines go in
Social Vines plants 14 acres of cold-hardy wine grapes around the barn and farmhouse. The first fruit goes to the winery two miles away.
Our Sister Vineyard
Social Vines Vineyard & Winery
Cornman Farms shares its family with Social Vines, a boutique vineyard and winery on a 70-acre farm between Dexter and Ann Arbor, two miles from the barn. Cold-climate grapes planted in 2022, wine made on the farm, and a pavilion with sunset views. The same wines are poured at Cornman Farms, and from 2027 the grapes for them will grow here too.
